DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HISTORY:
Peele's wife, a Guilford County school teacher, obtained an emergency
50B domestic violence protective order to protect herself and her children
from him on 30 Nov. 2018 in Guilford County District Court. (File No. 18CVD
520741). A permanent protective order was entered against him on 7 Dec. 2018.
The verified allegations by his wife which led to the entry of the orders were:
"Myself and my children are extremely fearful of Brian. He refuses to leave
us alone and is causing severe emotional trauma to myself and my children.
Since he left two and a half months ago he has sent me over 200 emails, as recent as
4 degrading emails on Wed. 11/28. He has started messaging underage
students at the school where I teach, degrading myself and my daughter.
He has been violent with me before. He has backhanded me, as well as strang-
led me to the point where I was almost unconscious. He has also held me down
and bit me. We are all extremely fearful of this man. He is sending very
degrading messages to underage friends of my daughter. My daughter is
extremely humiliated, upset, and angry. She is under severe emotional distress
because of him. He has verbally abused all 3 of my children and backhanded
my son in the chest".
Peele's wife also reported to the district attorney's office that she suffered from
PTSD as a result of Peele's treatment of her and her children, which is not surprising if you can imagine that you are a a female, much smaller and weaker than a man of Peele's size and strength, being choked to the brink of unconsciousness.
Notwithstanding that he was ordered to have "no contact, direct or indirect",
with his wife, in the first week of December, 2018, Peele sent texts to her father and
to one of her friends literally begging to get her to drop the 50B case.
In the texts, he admits that he "said some nasty things and sent some hurtful emails"
and says that he will not "...send anything further that may be hurtful or stressful".
He also says in the texts that he is financially "hanging by a thread during the winter",
and that he "will be tore [sic] up" if he has to see his wife in court.
His sending the texts resulted in his being arrested on 20 Dec. 2018, taken into
custody, and charged with the crime of Violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order.
Peele's wife did not back down. The permanent 50B domestic violence protective order was entered, as stated above. Peele did not even contest the entry of the order, which prohibited him from "committing any further acts of domestic violence or making any threats of domestic violence"; prohibited him from having any contact with his wife; prohibited him from assaulting, threatening, abusing, following, harassing or interfering with his wife or any of her children; prohibited him from threatening members of his wife's family; and ordered him to stay away from his wife's residence, her workplace, and the children's schools.
Particularly disturbing in this case are the credible allegations that Peele sent improper emails to underage children, which he seems to admit in his text messages.
This site administrator has received supportive comments regarding the information about Peele published on this site. A gentleman who has known him for years and who is close to a member of Peele's immediate family said, "Glad to see information about him finally coming out." A woman who says she was in a relationship with Peele about four years ago said, "Thank you for making people aware...".
The protective order against Peele expired in December 2019.
